Robert BONSALL. Private 18580, 2nd Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment). Born 1885 to George and Sarah Ellin Bonsall, nee Burgin of 31, Orchard Street, Ilkeston. Died at Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk of wounds 14 October 1916 aged 31 years. His father was granted a war gratuity 24 January 1917 revised 22 November 1919.

Charles William CARR. Private 4396, 5th Reserve Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment). Born 1894 in Derby to James Edward and Lydia Carr. 1901 residing with his parents at 3 Chatsworth Place, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. He joined the army and was posted as Private 18328, 12th Sherwood Foresters 3 November 1914 as Charles Carr aged 20 years and 70 days, occupation, labourer. He was discharged 21 November 1914 , not being likely to become an efficient soldier. His next of kin was his father James Edward and Mother Lydia of 8 Harcourt Cottages, Burton Road, Derby. No other army record could be found for him. Died in Nottingham 1 March 1916 aged 22 years. His mother, Mrs Shaw was granted a war gratuity 11 August 1922.

Frank DAWS. Rifleman 9120, 6th King’s Royal Rifle Corps, transferred to as Private 585593 Eastern Counties Labour Centre, Labour Corps. Born 1882 to Charles and Julian Daws, of Morley, Derbyshire, husband of Sarah Ann Jones. He was married 6 June 1908 at Morley parish church, Derbyshire as Frank Dawes. He was aged 26 years, Collier, she was aged 22, spinster, and a servant. 1911 residing with his wife and son, John Frank Mansfield Daws aged 2 years at 5 Andrew Avenue, Larklands, Ilkeston. Occupation, coalminer underground, timber worker. His widow remarried to Mr Trusswell and resided of 80, Wade Avenue, Larklands, Ilkeston. Died 6 August 1918 aged 36 years. Birth surname DAWES memorial has DAWS.

Godfrey DAYKIN. Gunner 270771, 7th Reserve Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. Born 1896 at Cotmanhay, Derbyshire to Philip and Edna Daykin. 1901 residing with his parents and siblings at 19 Prince Street, Ilkeston, Derbyshire. 1911 residing with father and stepmother Martha, formerly Baker and siblings at 21 Milton Road, Cotmanhay, Derbyshire, occupation Pit pony handler underground. Died at Frensham Hill Military Hospital, nr Farnham, Surrey 30 August 1918 aged 22 years. His father was granted a war gratuity 22 November 1918.
