Saxby William

He died along with 8 other sappers whilst training on the railway were killed by a German bomb dropped on their billet in Church Street, Melbourne. 11th July 1940. Eight died at the scene one died later in hospital.

Died age 20. Son of Harry & Amy Saxby, foster son of Charles Edward & Hannah Mary Saxby of Newark, Nottinghamshire. "One of the best the world contained always a smile and a heart of gold"
