DAVENPORT, Salusbury Sewell, formerly Lieutenant in the Rifle Brigade and latterly Captain in the 2nd West Indian Regiment and 60th Royal Rifles, Died at Quebec, Canada, 13th March 1869 aged 30.
He is commemorated on a family memorial at Macclesfield Cemetery, Cheshire and is at rest in Quebec, Canada.
London Gazette;
Rifle Brigade. To be Ensign, without purchase. Ensign Salusbury Sewell Davenport, from the 2nd Royal Cheshire Militia. Dated 31st January, 1855.
Lieutenant Salusbury Sewell Davenport to be Captain, without purchase, vice Brevet-Major Mends. Dated 11th April, 1862.
