Ruby DICKINSON. Staff Nurse AANS. 3rd Australian General Hospital.

Born 1886 at Baan Baa, New South Wales, Australia to William and Julia Dickinson of 49 Spit Road, Mosman Sydney, later of "Arizona," Almora Street, Mosman, Queensland. Died of pneumonia 23 June 1918 aged 32 years

Enlisted 26 July 1915 into 3rd AGH. Embarked 31 July 1915 on transport duty with Hospital Ship, Orontes
04 September 1915 reported for duty. 3rd Australian General Hospital
01 February 1916 duty with 1st Australian General Hospital
23 January 1916 reported for duty with 3rd Australian General Hospital and she returned to her unit
17 July 1916 off strength from 3rd AGH to transport duty Abbassia to nursing duties in charge from Cairo, Egypt to Australia on Hospital Ship, Seang Choon. Left Suez 17 July 1916, disembarked Melbourne 17 August 1916.
24 January 1917 embarked Sydney New South Wales on HMAT Anchises A68 bound for England. Disembarking at Devonport, Plymouth, England.
27 March 1917. Granted leave form 28 March 1917 to 12 April 1917 and attached for duty with 3rd Australia Auxiliary Hospital, Dartford.
13 April 1917 attach for duty at 3rd Australian Auxiliary Hospital Dartford.
17 October 1917 embarked for France with 3rd Australian General Hospital disembarking the same day.
23 October 1917 reported sick at 3rd AGH and was transferred 2nd Stationary Hospital, Abbeville, France suffering from otitis media. (middle ear infection)
12 November 1917 invalided to England on SS St Dennis the same day to England and was admitted into 12 Southwell Gardens Hospital, London.
16 January 1918 discharged to duty with 2nd Australian Auxiliary Hospital, South Road, Southall Middlesex
24 January 1918 attached to No 1 Australian Auxiliary Hospital, Southwell Gardens from 2AAH
23 June 1918 she reported sick in the morning and was transferred to Mrs T.S. Hall’s Hospital, Southwell Gardens, London. (Hospital for Australian Nurses)

She died the same day aged 32 at 04.35pm of lobar pneumonia following influenza which she contracted while working at No 1 Australian Auxiliary Hospital (formerly Harefield Park House) at Harefield, Middlesex. Total service 2 years and 11 months.

25 June 1918 laid to rest in St. Mary Churchyard, Harefield, Middlesex 3pm.
