Corporal 2308516 Ronald Lancelot Victor (known as Ronald) SNOW. Royal Corps of Signals died 3rd December 1922 aged 24. Born in 1898 to John Arthur who was granted a gratuity on the 30th June 1923, his mother was called Kate, nee, Davey. In 1901 he was living with his parents and siblings in army married quarters, of Hilsea Barracks, Hilsea, Portsmouth, Hampshire. His father was Battery Quartermaster Sergeant, 37472, Royal Field Artillery. In 1911, he, along with his siblings were living with their father, a widower, at Topsham Artillery Barracks, Topsham Road, Heavitree, Devon. Occupation, canteen manager.
(Wills and Admin, Ancestry) Ronald, otherwise Ronald Lancelot Victor SNOW of 10 Riviera Terrace, Exminster, Devon, died 3rd December 1922 at Military Hospital, Imtarfa, Malta. His effects went to his father, John Arthur Snow, clerk. The strife is o'er, the battle done.

Erected by the Officers, Non Commissioned Officers and Men of his Corps as a token of esteem and respect.

No army records were found for Ronald, but some were found for his father.John Arthur SNOW who joined the Royal Artillery aged 15 years and 10 months on the 20th November 1882 at Weedon Barracks, with the Royal Artillery as private 35702. His occupation prior to enlistment was a clerk. His parents were William James, Chelsea Pensioner and Mary Ann. Served in India, twice. 18th December 1895 to 1st July 1898, the back to England. India from 14th February 1906 to 30th December 1909, the, Uk, 31st December 1909. He was discharged to pension as Battery Quartermaster Sergeant after serving 27 years and 57 days. He was recommended for appointment as Barracks Warden - "He is in possession of a 1st Class Certificate, is a good clerk, and has been a Battery Quartermaster Sergeant." He re-joined the colours at Deepcut as Sergeant Major 37472 with the Royal Field Artillery, 47th Brigade Staff. He gave no home address but may have been living with his son, Ronald Lancelot Victor who was his next of kin at 6 Durnford Street, Stonehouse, Devon. On the 19th November 1914 he was discharged as being unfit for duties of the corps. He was discharged from Ewshot, Hampshire aged 47 years and 10 months. He died on the 20th February 1926. He lived at The Newmarket Hotel, Launceston, Cornwall, his effects went to his daughter, Hilda Florence Ponsford, wife of James.
