Pte William Basil Rogers (d.1996)
My name is Leanne Rogers and I am the Grandaughter of William Basil Rogers who fought at Arnhem as part of the 2nd South Staffordshires. My grandad died in 1996 but he is still a major part of my life and for this reason I would love to hear from anyone who knew him or fellow members of the Airborne Division. I study history at the University of York and at present am writing a thesis on Ordinary Men and their experiences in WW2. Contributions would be very much appreciated from anyone who has a story to tell on what it is like to be taken from everyday life and placed in extraordinary circumstances. These personal stories should never be lost to time like my grandad's were. (I have tried to make contact by my e-mail but it came back to me as not recognized).
