Leading Aircraftman 1169197 Robert Jesse PARR.Radio Installation and Maintenance Unit. (RIMU) Royal Air Force (VR) Captured at Singapore 17th March 1942 died whilst prisoner of war 18th May 1945 aged 23. Held at Sumatra (Padang, Medan, Aceh, Railway), died on the Sumatra Railway. Son of Horace Curtis and Martha Parr, of Derby, stepson of Mrs. E. M. Parr, of Derby. At rest in Djakarta War Cemetery, Indonesia. So far away but never forgotten.

This memorial plaque is at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire
