- Robert James ROSS. Chief Petty Officer of Signals 198346, of Senglea, Pensioner. Left the Royal Navy as Chief Yeoman of Signals at HMS Egmont (Shore Base) Malta. Born 30 July 1882 at Avoch, Ross, enlisted 18 February 1898 on HMS Briton, civilian occupation, telegraph messenger boy. Last ship Emperor of India 31 March 1921. Died 29th July 1930 aged 47 years at Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, Malta of Staphylococcal meningitis.
