Extended Description: Robert George HAWTHORNE. Private 24216564 Ex 2 UDR. Shot dead by the PIRA as he drove his car into the car park at Soho Place, Newry, County Down on the 5th October 1979 aged 37.
Commemorated on a tree memorial plaque at the UDR Memorial, National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire. Also on the Glenanne UDR Memorial, County Armagh.
