Robert Dale SPANTON. Dockyard Foreman, Armament Depots. M.T.E. (Mechanical Training Establishment) Died at Imtarfa 90th General Hospital, Imtarfa, Malta. On the 25th June 1940. In 1911 he was living with his wife Louisa Plunkett and daughter Doreen May aged 1 at 87 Clarence Road, Torpoint, Cornwall. Occupation, Government dockyard worker.
Maurice Andrew William MALCOLM, Lance Corporal, 5724730, B. Company 1st Dorsetshire Regiment, Born 1914 to Edward John and Lizzie Florence Malcolm nee Latter, of Southsea, Hampshire
Died of extensive burns 12th July 1940, aged 26 years. caused by the shooting down an Italian aircraft by Flying Officer Frederic Taylor which crashed in flames near Fort San Leonardo severely damaging a nearby Post RA6 which houses B Coy, 1st Dorsetshire Regiment. The other soldier to die was Private George Edward Le Prevost.
