Private 20316 Richard John LISTER, 8th Bedfordshire Regiment killed in action on the 15th September 1916 aged 32. He was born at St Ives, and lived at Needingworth, both in Huntingdonshire and he was the son of John and Susan Jane. In 1911 he was now married and he was living with his wife Clara nee Dodson at East Street, St Ives, Huntingdonshire, he was employed as a coal carrier.
He is commemorated on a poppy cross along with Herbert Alfred Armes at the foot of a tree dedicated to Alan Matthew SMYTH Ex UDR at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas. He is also commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
