Lieutenant General Richard Harte Keatinge BUTLER. K.C.B., K.C.M.G. Born in 1871, husband Helen Frances nee BATTISCOMBE. Served with the 2nd Dorsetshire Regiment. He Commanded the 2nd Lancashire Fusiliers, 3rd Infantry Brigade, III Corps, 2nd Division and Western Command. Fought in the second Boer War and the First World War. Awarded, Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath Knight Commander of the Order of St Michael and St George. (Wills and Admin, Ancestry.co.uk) Sir Richard Harte Keatinge Butler, K.C.B., J.C.M.G. of Roden Lodge, Shawbury Shropshire died 22nd April 1935. His effects went to his wife, Dame Helen. In 1911 he was serving with the 2nd Dorsetshire Regiment in India aged 40 Died 22nd April 1934 aged 64 his wife died 13th January 1944 aged 70. Both at rest in St Luke's Churchyard, Hodnet, Shropshire.
