Reginald (Joseph) MITCHELL. CBE, AMICL FRAes 1895-1937. Designer of the Spitfire. Born at 115 Congleton Road, Butt Lane Stoke -on-Trent 20th May 1895. Donated by Butt Lane Baptist Church in gratitude. He died 11th June 1937 aged 42. Full name was Reginald Joseph Mitchell.
Wills and Admin. Ancestry. He lived at Hazeldene 2 Russell Place, Southampton and died on date stated. His effects went to Florence Mitchell, widow.
This memorial plaque is at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire
