Raymond BANNER. 168296 Merchant Navy, Born at Methil, Scotland 26th February 1917 died in Malta 28th September 1942 of peritonits. Ship's Steward on SS Ohi, oil tanker.
Address 106 Drive Street, Methil, Scotland.


This ship was involved in Operation Pedestal, Malta. It was badly damaged and nearly sunk but was saved when it was lashed between two destroyers and a tugboat.

"Remembered by his twin brother, Ogilvie."
Commemorated by a plaque Div.6 Joint Grave 8 Ta'Braxia Cemetery, Malta.
