PHIPPS Henry Harry, Private 8940, 1st South Staffordshire Regiment died of wounds at Military Hospital, Cardiff, South Wales on the 29th December 1914 aged 23. He was the son of Thomas and stepson of Harriet. In 1911 he was living with his parents at 54, Gomer Street, Willenhall. He was working as a rimer for locks and dead locks. He is at rest in Bentley Cemetery, Willenhall, Staffordshire
