Major 62956 Peter John ALERS HANKEY. Mentioned in Despatches. 4th Regiment Royal Horse Artillery died 18 October 1945 aged 33. Son of Basil Howard Alers Hankey, C.B.E., and of Maud Wyndham Alers Hankey (nee Goodden), of Chippenham. And brother of Wyndham Basil who also died in the war. At rest in St Giles Churchyard Stanton St Quintin, Wiltshire
