Born 1899, baptised 11 June 1899 at St Martins Church, North Nibley, Gloucestershire to Ernest Edwin and Elizabeth Maud Hedges.
1901-1911 with his parents and sibling at Upper Wick, nr Dursley
Gloucestershire later moved to Woodfield, Dursley, Gloucestershire.
He died at Tidworth Military Hospital on the 21st April 1917 aged 18.
A war gratuity was granted to his widowed mother 22 June 1917.
Notes from his service record.
Enlisted 20 January 1917, aged 17 years, transferred to army reserve to await his mobilisation.
13 April 1917 he posted to Depot of Gloucestershire Regiment at Horfield Barracks, Bristol.
He was admitted to Tidworth Military Hospital 21st April 1917 at 3.45pm on the 1st day of illness in a very collapsed condition, Temp.104. Haemorrhagic eruption, no treatment of any avail. Died at 8-30pm same day of Cerebro spinal fever.
Laid to rest 26 April 1917 in Berkeley Cemetery, Gloucestershire
