Private 59578, Percival HANSCOMBE, 3rd Welsh Regiment died 13th April 1917 aged 36. He was the son of Edward. He is at rest in St Margaret Churchyard, Bodelwyddan, Denbighshire Wales.
Some notes from what is left of his army records
He enlisted on the 11th February 1917 and gave his address as Evilnewydd Lane, Dingestow, occupation farm labourer aged 46. He was born in London and last address found after his death when the police were requested to find any relatives, because he was orphaned from a very early age, was 24, Park Street, Drury Lane, London. His mother died when he was very young and his father was put into prison and on the 24th November 1888 he was placed into a Working Boys Home at Bath Street, Hereford. The superintendent of the Boys Home was Mr G.W.Cleaver and he received the Memorial Scroll and Plaque, plus a photo of his grave with a cross erected thereon with the inscription. Pte Percy Hanscombe, 3rd Welsh Regiment aged 46 died 12.4.1917.
He was at No 7 Camp, Kinmel Park and on the 13th April 1917 he died of Bronchitis, and on Army Form W3037, Notification of the death of a Soldier it stated that he died of Cardiac Failure on the 13.4.17. at Kinmel Park Military Hospital
