Joseph H.N.G. BONNICI. Petty Officer E/JX.132594 Royal Navy, HMS Ploughboy, Minesweeper. The ship was severely damaged when three mines exploded close to the vessel on the 1st March 1941. The drifter was engaged in a sweep and operating a Kango hammer at the entrance to Grand Harbour when the mines detonated. The ship was beached to stop her sinking. Son of Francis and Esther Bonnici, and husband of Grace Mary Bonnici, of Zejtun. Died 10th March 1941 aged 49
