PARK HALL WAR MEMORIAL near CHEADLE STAFFORDSHIRE

Erected by the employers and employees of the Park Hall Colliery Coy Ltd, Cheadle, Staffordshire.
In honour of those who left the colliery to serve in the
GREAT WAR 1914 1919
The memorial was unveiled on Tuesday 28 October 1919 at 2-30pm It is a memory of 35 men who left the collier to serve in the Great War for whom including Lt W.A. Bowers (late proprietor) made the supreme sacrifice.
The memorial is in the form of a 12 foot Monolith of Cornish Granite

1914-1918
Bowers William Aubrey Lieutenant, 5th North Staffordshire Regiment, died of wounds at 20 casualty clearing station 2 July 1916 aged 29 Son of William E & Alice BOWERS of Caverswall, Staffordshire & husband of Vera Aimee Bowers of Caverswall Castle. Buried in Warlincourt Halte British Cemetery, Saulty, France.
Hughes Charles Alfred Private, 29928, 4th East Lancashire Regiment, formerly Pte 35815, North Staffordshire Regiment killed in action, 1 August 1918 (CWGC has his death date as 3 August 1918) age 19. Son of Charles Ralph and Asneeth Hughes, 12 Belgrave Roda, Dresden, Longton Staffordshire. Buried in Coxyde Military Cemetry, Koksijde West- Vlaamdern, Belgium.
Lovatt Kenneth Roy Private, 65586 Northumberland Fusiliers, formerly Pte 39449, West Riding Regiment killed in action in Germany, 5 Dec 1918 aged 19. Son of Frederick and Hannah of Harewood Road, Cheadle. Buried in Berlin, South Western Cemetery. Germany
Nutt Leonard Eli Private, 44391 2nd Suffolk Regiment, formerly Pte 49514, South Staffordshire Regiment, killed in action, 2 Oct 1918 aged 19. Son of John and Winifred of Mill Road, Cheadle Buried in Rumilly-en-Cambresis Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
