The first six named all died the same day 4th April 1942 and were the crew of H.M.S. Kingston when the ship was bombed in Valletta harbour whilst in dry dock

Died 4 April 1942 aged 22 years from injuries received at HM Dockyard, Malta as the result enemy aircraft bombing

Born 29 December 1916 at Birmingham, Warwickshire to Harry Edward and Louisa Jane Taylor nee Williams of Stirchley, Birmingham. Died 4 April 1942 aged 25 years from injuries received at HM Dockyard, Malta as the result enemy aircraft bombing



F097 DAVIS Charles Henry. Master at Arms P/M37837 Royal Navy on HMS St Angelo shore base, Malta. Born 3 January 1896 at Penge, London to Charles and Bessie Davis. Husband of Evelyn May Davis, of Copnor, Portsmouth. Enlisted 16 September 1912 on HMS Impregnable as J20435 Boy 2nd Class, civilian occupation engine boy. Promoted to Ordinary Seaman 3 January 1914 and 9 September 1920 made it to Petty Officer. Transferred 5 January 1924 as Regulating Petty Officer M37837. Promoted to Master at Arms 23 March 1934 on HMS Coursera. Died in 90th General Hospital (Imtarfa Hospital and Barracks) 14 Apr 1942 aged 46 years from a fractured skull, cerebral haemorrhage as the result of lacerations of the brain all caused by an accidental fall at HMS St Angelo.

F097 DARGUE Walter. Able Seaman P/SSX33888, Royal Navy on HMS St Angelo shore base, Malta. Born 7 May 1921 at Brampton, Cumberland to George and Janet Dargue husband of Olive Dargue, of Langholm, Dumfriesshire. Died in Malta25 April 1942 aged 20 years

F097 WALDRON Leslie Reginald. Leading Stoker D/KX85893 Royal Navy on HMS Xmas. Born 4 January 1916 at Totnes, Devon to Frederick and Ethel May Waldron nee Salter. Died 25 April 1942 aged 26 years at Ghajn Tuffieha, Malta He may have drowned because there is a beach at that location which was used by service personnel and civilians. It was locally known as Military Bay.
