- Norman Leslie MATTHEWS. Ordinary Artificer M5197 Royal Navy HMS Revenge. Born 16th October 1894 at Sheffield, Yorkshire to George Frederick and Lucy Ellen Matthews nee Moxey. Enlisted 24th October 1912 on HMS Excellent. Occupation prior to enlistment, fitter and turner. Died 1st September 1929 aged 34 years in Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, Malta from acute intestinal obstruction. His mother was informed of his death.
