Maynard CRAWFORD

Extended Description: Sergeant 24199058 Maynard CRAWFORD, 9th County Antrim Battalion. Previously in the B-Specials.
The 13 January 1972 he was shot dead by four PIRA gunmen as he was sat in his van on a building site at Kings Road off the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey County Antrim waiting to take workers home just after 4pm. The gunmen pulled alongside in a dark blue Ford Cortina and fired two shots through the window hitting him in the head, he died instantly aged 38. At rest in Lambeg Churchyard.
