Extended Description
Sergeant 24199058 Maynard CRAWFORD, 9th County Antrim Battalion. Previously in the B-Specials.
The 13 January 1972 he was shot dead by four PIRA gunmen as he was sat in his van on a building site at Kings Road off the Doagh Road, Newtownabbey County Antrim waiting to take workers home just after 4pm. The gunmen pulled alongside in a dark blue Ford Cortina and fired two shots through the window hitting him in the head, he died instantly aged 38. At rest in Lambeg Churchyard.

He is commemorated on the UDR Memorial, Castle Street, Lisburn, County Antrim, Northern Ireland, also commemorated on the Ulster Defence Regiment Roll of Honour

Sergeant 23680848 William Joseph REID. 9th County Antrim Battalion.
He died after his gun accidentally went off while he was at the home of a part time soldier 28 May 1972 aged 28. He was from Lisburn County Antrim.
