Born 29 June 1880 in Queensland to Peter Robert Dickson.
Enlisted 11 June 1915. Discharged medically unfit for war service 4 January 1916.
Died of Cerebrospinal meningitis, 4 October 1917 at the No. 5 Australian General Hospital, Melbourne, Victoria aged 37 years.

Sister May Dickson, of the Queen Alexandra Imperial Nursing Staff Reserve, who died on reaching Melbourne, was buried in that city on Friday with full military honours. She was the first woman to be thus honoured in Australia.

Sister May Dickson of the Queen Alexandra Imperial Military Nursing Staff Reserve who was invalided home to Sydney and died after the steamer reached Melbourne was buried here with full military honours. This is the first time in the history of Australia that a woman has been honoured.
