- Mary Ann BURGESS, nee Newton. Nurse VAD.
Born 1894 to John Riches. 1901 residing with her parents and sibling at Collerston Road, Greenwich. 1911 boarding at 87 Belmont Hill Lee, Lewisham. 1916 she was residing at Long Grove, Epsom, Surrey and she joined the VAD the same year. 16 August 1916 she reported for duty at the Royal Victoria Military Hospital Netley, Southampton, Hampshire from 16 August 1916 to 27 June 1917.
1918 she married Henry Burgess.
Died in Cheshire 29 November 1918
