Boston Guardian - Saturday 23 November 1918 -
Deep sympathy will be felt with the Rev. J. Beanland, Vicar of Holy Trinity Church and Mrs Beanland, upon the terribly sudden death of their daughter, Miss Marjorie Beanland, aged 18 years. The deceased was at work on Wednesday week and died on Sunday morning as the result of a throat infection. Miss Beanland was particularly well known in the town and was for a long time a nurse at the Allan House Red Cross Hospital. The funeral took place at Holy Trinity Church on Tuesday, her remains being interred in the Churchyard. The service was conducted by Rev. R. O. Hodge, Vicar of Benington. The coffin which was covered with the Union Jack and carried by six wounded soldiers from Allan House Hospital, bore the inscription., “Marjorie Roberta Beanland. Born 7th May 1900. Died 17th November 1918” There was a firing party from the North Staffords, who fired three volleys and the bugler of the 2/6th Suffolks impressively sounded the “Last Post”.
