- Margaret Swell BLAKE. Nurse VAD. Born 1878 at Ecclesall Bierlow, West Riding, Yorkshire to Walter Henry (Solicitor) and Margaret Blake, nee Swell .
1881 residing with her siblings and widowed father at the home of her grandparents Charles and Maria Blake at Morey House, Surbiton, Surrey. 1891 aged 12 with her father at Wood Villa, Hampton Wick, Middlesex.
1901 still with her father at 9 Radcliffe Villa, Maple Road, Surbiton, no occupation given.
1911 with her father at 36 Mable Road, Surbiton, Surrey, no occupation given. Enlisted 14 February 1917. Nursed at Rusthall Hospital, Tunbridge Wells.
Died of septic pneumonia 22 January 1918 at South Sea Hampshire which contracted whilst on duty with the VAD. Her effects went to her father.
