Margaret ELLIFFE. Sister. 2Res/ E20.QAIMNSR stationed at Millbank Military Hospital.

Born 12 November 1886 to Thomas and Mary Elliffe, nee Coleman of Coyne, Castletown Geoghan, near Mullingar.
Next of kin her sister Miss Elizabeth Elliffe of 19 Rosemount Road, Philesboro, Dublin.
1911 age 23 a hospital nurse in Poplar Hospital, East India Dock Road, Poplar.

Died 24 May 1916 aged 27 of septicaemia at the Queen Alexandra Military Hospital, Millbank.

At rest in Brookwood Cemetery, Surrey

She is also commemorated on the Nurses Memorial, St Anne's Cathedral, Belfast.

Extract from The British Journal of Nursing dated 3 June 1916 -
We regret to record the death of Miss Elliffe, a member of the Military Nursing Service Reserve, which took place at the Queen Alexandra’s Military Hospital, Millbank. She was buried with military honours. Convalescent patients following the gun carriage used as a bier as a last tribute of respect.
