MALTON, Arthur, Lance Corporal 19591, 9th Yorkshire Regiment, killed in action 29th March 1916. He was the son of John William and Isabella of Pickering and husband of Sarah. He is commemorated on his wife's memorial in Pickering Cemetery, Yorkshire and is at rest in Tranchee De Mecknes Cemetery, Aix-Noulette, Pas de Calais, France. He joined up on the 9th January 1915 and transferred to the Army reserve late to be called to the colours at joined the 9th Battalion Yorkshire Regiment. He married to Sarah nee Pinkey on the 2nd June 1910 at Pickering and then lived at 9, Astley Terrace, Seaton Delaval, Northumberland. He was killed in action in France place unknown 29th March 1916.
