This SP AA gun was based on the M24 Chaffee Light Tank chassis. The engine and transmission were moved forward to leave room at the rear of the hull for a rotating shield carrying twin 40mm Bofors AA guns. The mount was power operating and could elevate to 85. On occasion, it was used effectively as a ground support weapon. Only 285 were built.

The 40-mm (1.57-in) L60 Bofors gun is a remarkable weapon, still in service over 70 years since first designed. Both Allies and Axis deployed the gun in World War II.
