ECCLES, Lucien Arthur William Joseph. Warrant Officer, Pilot 1931095, Royal Air Force (VR) station with 290 Squadron, at Long Kesh, County Down, Northern Ireland. He was killed while part of crew of an Oxford LX598 which collided with a Martinet during a Civil Defence Demonstration 1 mile off Warrenpoint pier, County Down, killing three pilots 15/07/1944 aged 21. He is at rest in Leigh Cemetery, Lancashire.
