1.1.01 Louisa Emmaline DARK, nee Hudd wife of Colour-Sergeant Walter James. Dark, 1st Royal West Kent Regiment, died 16th October 1904, aged 25 years, died at Citta Vecchia Hospital, Malta. Louisa was the daughter of Robert and Emmaline Hudd of 44 Barlow Street, Walworth, Southwark. She was married age 22 on the 12th March 1900 at St Stephens Church, Walworth, Southwark to Walter James Dark aged 22, Sergeant with the Royal West Kent Regiment stationed at Maidstone. She was living at the time of her marriage at 22 Innville Road, Walworth. 1901 she was living with her husband in married quarters at Maidstone Army Barracks. Her husband went on the fight in the Great War as Captain with the same regiment. On the 25th June 1916 he was in France. Retired from the army on the 31st January 1922 and was living at 3 Rathform Road, Catford, London.
At rest in P1/R1/G1/ Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta.
Please note. The very first burial that took place in this cemetery was in 1899 of baby Lilian Ada Wood in P1.R1.G1. This grave is opposite the original grave 1. For some reason there are three separate graves with the same grave number and location. The other grave being Ellen Isabel Callander
