Born 1879 at Elmore, Victoria, Australia to Mrs. Eliza Bicknell, of 205 Longridge Street Abbotsford, Victoria, Australia.
Died 25 June 1915 aged 35 years.
She opened her own private hospital at Bairnsdale and nursed there for eight years.
Some notes from her service records -
03 April 1915 aged 35 she enlisted in the Australian Army Nursing Service and embarked for Egypt on the Kyarra. In Egypt she was posted for duty at No.1 Australian General Hospital. Heliopolis, Cairo Egypt.
She sustained a scratch on her hand while nursing wounded soldiers, and developed pyaemia, a type of infection. She was ill for about six days and died in her hospital of septic poisoning in left arm on 25 June 1915. aged 35 years.
