L185 FREDERICK WILLIAM EVERSHED. Able Seaman P/J15722 Royal Navy on HMS Stuart. Born 29th January 1895 at East Grimstead, Sussex to John Podgee and Lizzie Evershed, nee Turney. 1901 residing with his parents and siblings at 33 Lingfield Road, East Grinstead, Sussex. In 1911 he was living with his father (widower) and his two sisters still at 33 Lingfield Road, East Grimstead. Enlisted 30th January 1912, occupation prior to enlistment, errand boy. Died at Royal Naval Hospital Bighi, Malta 19th June 1931 aged 37 of dysentery (Amoebic) and subphrenic abscess.
