L158 JOHN DONOVAN. Leading Seaman B1392 Royal Fleet Auxiliary formerly 181403 Royal Navy on HMS Egmont, Malta. Born 20th April 1879 at Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. Enlisted 25 August 1894 on HMS Impregnable at Devonport as Boy 2nd Class. Left the navy 24 February 1906. Enrolled into Royal Fleet Auxiliary 25 February 1906 as B 1392. Died of Meningitis pneumococcal on the 8th November 1918 in Royal Naval Hospital, Bighi, Malta aged 39 years. His brother of 19, Cork Street, Kinsale, Ireland was informed of his death 10th November 1918. “Loved by all who knew him.”
