K139 Dominque PERRIN, Seaman French Navy on French Ship Basque. Died 19th February 1918 aged 28 years of injuries received following the torpedoing of the Steamship Basque by UBoat 52, Captain Otto Launburg. The ship was only damaged.

18.02.1918: torpedoed off Malta by UB 52. On 18 February 1918, after leaving Saint Paul harbour (Malta) at 16:00, a torpedo was fired at the starboard chimney at about 23:30, launched by the German sailor. Remaining afloat, but evacuated, a fire broke out around 2:15 am at the central castle. Captain and his crew on board British trawlers JAMES CONNOR and ALEXANDER HILLS return on board to fight the fire. The ship was towed by trawlers and then by tug boats to Marsa Sirocco where it was beached on the 20th at 03:10. 10 victims and 3 wounded, two of which were serious. On the 1st of March the ship was deserted and taken to Valletta.
