K004 Daniel KILLEN. Stoker 283531, Royal Navy on HMS Renown. Born 23 August 1873 at Millgrange, County Louth, Ireland, baptised 23 August 1873 at Carlingford South, Co Louth, parents Owen and Margaret Killen nee Murphy. Enlisted at Devonport 12 September 1896 on HMS Vivi II as Stoker 2nd Class, occupation prior to enlistment, Labourer. Accidentally killed on board during a general exercise. He suffered multiple injuries when he was jammed between anchor and a capstan bar on the 8 June 1903 aged 29 years. His headstone was erected by the Engine Room Staff as a token of respect and sympathy.
