John Thompson HASLETT. Constable, Royal Ulster Constabulary. 15 October 1971, he and Constable Henry Cunningham were on undercover surveillance operation in an unmarked police car, junction of Woodvale Road and Twaddell Avenue. They were observing a bank and post office which had been previously robbed a few times. IRA terrorists driving a stolen car drove pass the firing automatic weapons killing both officers. Constable Haslett was aged 21. At rest in Roselawn Cemetery, Belfast, Northern Ireland.
