Extended Description
Captain, Edwin Robert John TRUCKLE (k/a John Robert Edwin) retired, 11th Ulster Defence Regiment.
Killed by a booby trap bomb which had been attached by the PIRA under his car outside his home in Woodside Hill Portadown Co Armagh on the 20th September 1983, aged 61. Laid to rest in Seagoe Cemetery in Portadown

Born in England, served in the army, married in Northern Ireland. Joined The Royal Irish Fusiliers (TA) and the UDR on its formation.

Through out all the records found he has used the name John Robert Edwin. His birth was registered as Edwin R J Truckle in the registration district of Salisbury, Wiltshire 1922

He was the son of Ernest Robert and Ellen Truckle nee May

He was promoted to Captain 1st August 1961 with the T.A.
