GREEN John, killed in France on the 2nd August 1917 aged 27. He was the son of Samuel and Elizabeth of 483, Newchurch, Culcheth, Lancashire. He is commemorated on a family memorial in Newchurch churchyard, Culcheth, Lancashire. The CWGC have the following. Gunner 174387 J Green, 12th Heavy Battery, Royal Garrison Artillery, formerly 190789, died 1st August 1917. He is at rest in Belgain Battery Corner Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium
