John GOODACRE. Military Cross. Prebendary of Pipa Manor in Lichfield Cathedral. Curate in Charge 1906-1913. First Vicar of this parish 1913-1920. Born 5 December 1874 at Exeter, Devon died 10 July 1951 died aged 76 in the Shrewsbury Registration District.
1901 He was residing alone at 30 Sams Lane, West Bromwich. Occupation, Clergyman Church of England aged 27.
1911 He was Clergyman at All Saints Church, 120 and 122 Leek Road, Hanley and 36 and single. Alice Edwards aged 31 was his house keeper.
1913-1919 (Medal Card) Serving with the Royal Army Chaplains Department as Reverend. Address on Medal Card, St Pauls Vicarage, Burton-on-Trent.

date the 25th instant, to appoint the Reverend John Goodacre, M.A., to the living of All Saints, Hanley, in the county of Stafford and diocese of Lichfield.

1939 He was Clergyman at Mountford Church along with his wife Winifred
1945 Possible serving in the war.
1953. He residing with his wife at 20 North Park Road, Bedford

The Reverend John GOODACRE of Montford Vicarage near Shrewsbury, Clerk, died 11 July 1951. His effects went to Winifred Angel Mary Goodacre, (Born 16 September 1888) widow and John Purefoy Goodacre, engineer.


This memorial plaque can be seen in All Saints Church, Joiners Square, Hanley, Staffordshire.
