Private 18376 John Edward QUICK, 5th King\'s Shropshire Light Infantry killed in action 23rd August 1917 aged 42 at the battle of Passchendaele. He was born in 1875 to Joseph Edwin and Jane of 6, Guildford Street, Shelton, Stoke on Trent, and was husband of Hannah, nee Lyth of 16, Soap Works, Oak Hill, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire. They had six children. He is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium. Photo taken in November 2014 at Trent Vale War Memorial, Staffordshire.
