John DOBSON. Stoker 1st Class 292527, Royal Navy on HMS Bacchante. Born 15th October 1880 at Blackburn, Lancashire, enlisted 20th July 1899, occupation prior to enlistment, cycle fitter and then Private, Royal Marine. Died 31st October 1907 aged 32. He went missing and his body was found hanging 1st November 1907. Court in Inquiry found that the man committed suicide by hanging himself. The evidence showed the deceased was addicted to gambling and had received a letter from England informing him of the loss of his.., in only!!. This is the only reason that could be discovered for the suicide. Verdict of inquest, suicide. His mother was informed of his death 4th November 1907. At rest in Plot B Grave 149, Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Malta.
