Extended Description: Joe F STANFIELD. Technical Sergeant (T/Sgt) 4035646 United States Army Air Force (USAAAF) 86th Bomber Squadron 47th Bomber Group, Light, stationed at RAF Ta Kali, Malta. Born 15 May 1916 in Georgia to Carter and Emma Stanfield, nee West. 1920 residing with his parents and sibling at Bull Gap Road, Jasper City, Pickens, Georgia. 1930 with his parents and siblings at Militia District 1098, Pickens. 1940 at same address, occupation aged 23, truck driver. Husband of Grovie Hayes. Enlisted 1941 aged 25. Killed 5 August 1943.

Laid to rest 7 August 1943 in Capuccini Naval Cemetery, Plot F. Grave 113.
Repatriated by US personnel about Oct 1945 to Italy and laid to rest Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Lazio, Italy
