1939 her parents were residing at 12 Estoril Road, Darlington, Yorkshire
Died in India 14 October 1942 aged 25
Extract from The British Journal of Nursing dated February 1943 -
It is with regret that we record the death on active service in India, on October 14th, 1942, of Miss Jessie Darnell, S.R.N., Sister Q.A.I.M.N.S.R. Miss Darnell received her general training at the Royal Infirmary, Newcastle-on-Tyne (1936-1940), and was appointed to Q.A.I.M.N.S. Reserve in September 1941. After serving at military hospitals in this country, Miss Darnell proceeded to India in March, 1942, and was serving there at the time of her death.
