James Travers BLOUNT-DINWIDDIE, Capt 1st The Border Regt.
Born in Dumfries 25 April 1891. Died 13 Sept 1915 at the Empire Hospital, London, of wounds received on 21st August at Anafarta Ridge in the Dardanelles.

James Blount-Dinwiddie was born on 25th April 1891 in Dumfries, the second son of James Blount-Dinwiddie, Writer to the Signet. After attending Elizabeth College, Guernsey, James matriculated at Pembroke College in 1908 on a King Charles I Scholarship. He passed his Mods with a 3rd class in 1910 and obtained his 2nd class BA in Jurisprudence in 1912.
Buried in Holy Trinity churchyard, Amberley, Gloucestershire
