DENSON James Thomas, Private TR5/43200 Training Reserve died 4th January 1920 aged 44 He was the son of William and Mary Ann of Newcastle and was the husband of Susan nee Pepper who he married on the 9th June 1899 at St George Church, Newcastle-under-Lyme. In 1911 he was living with his wife, mother-in-law Anne Pepper and her daughter Gertrude Lucas and her husband all at 21, Charles Street, May Bank, Wolstanton, Staffordshire. He was employed as a Fish Hawker. Some notes from what remains of his army record. He joined up on the 20th June 1917 and posted as Private 46264, North Staffordshire Regiment. He was aged 41, worked as a labourer and lived with his wife Susan at 16, Market Lane, Newcastle, Staffs. The 23rd June 1917 he was transferred to 80 Training Reserve. On the 30th August 1917 he was discharged no longer physically fit for war service under Para 392 XVI King's Regulations to his home at 31, Market Street, Newcastle. It was discovered on a Medical Board dated 9th August 1917 that he suffered with Bronchitis which was later concluded as being aggravated by military service. He suffered from Bronchitis from infancy. On the 4th January 1920 he died from (1) Phthisis (Lung disease) and (2) Pneumonia. He is at rest in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Cemetery, Staffordshire
