Extended Description
Private 24166382 James Edward EAMES 4th County Fermanagh Battalion aged 32, civilian occupation, post office engineer, both 4th County Fermanagh Battalion.
He was killed along with Lance Corporal Alfred Johnston by remote controlled bomb, hidden in abandoned car, detonated by the PIRA when Ulster Defence Regiment patrol approached, Cherrymount, near Enniskillen, County Fermanagh as they were going to check it the 25th August 1972. The Morris 1100 car had been stolen earlier at Kinawley. About the same time as the explosion 13 soldiers from 97 Battery Field Artillery were passing in a 4 Tonne Bedford Lorry on their way back to Saint Angelo Barracks, Enniskillen.
