James ATKINSON , died of wounds, B.E.F., 18th June 1918 aged 29. Private 523564 James ATKINSON, 3rd Field Ambulance, Canadian Army Medical Corps died on the 15th June 1918 aged 29, from wounds received at Etaples . He was born on the 18th August 1888 to James and Juanita Constance of 37, Willowbank Street, Belfast, Ireland and he was the husband of Nellie of 134, Spamount Street, Belfast. He enlisted at Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada on the 21st February 1916. He occupation prior to enlistment was a timekeeper and storekeeper. In Belfast he worked as a railwayman. He address at the time of enlistment was Bredenbury, Saskatchewan, Canada
He is commemorated on his parents memorial at Dundonald Cemetery, County Down, Northern Ireland also on the Bredenbury War memorial. He is at rest in Brookwood Military Cemetery, Surrey
